What we collect
Top Picks Report does not maintain an analytics integration that tracks individual readers across the internet. We do not use behavioral-advertising cookies; we do not maintain a Facebook Pixel, a Google Analytics integration that identifies individuals, or any similar third-party tracking system. The static site (which is what you are reading) collects no personal data on its own.
Where we do collect data: if you submit a question or correction by email, we keep the email correspondence for the period needed to reply and respond to follow-ups. If you subscribe to our email newsletter (the decorative form on the homepage; the production version, if and when it ships, will be at the same URL), we keep the email address you provide for the purpose of sending the newsletter and for no other purpose.
What we do not collect
We do not collect, and do not have access to: your IP address (beyond the standard server logs that any web server records, which we do not retain in personally-identifiable form), your browsing behavior elsewhere on the internet, your physical location, your demographics, or your purchase history. We do not have an advertising integration; we are not selling reader data to anyone, because we are not collecting it in the first place.
Cookies
The static site does not set any cookies of its own. Browser-level functionality (history, autofill) is between you and your browser; we do not have access to it.
Third-party content
We use Google Fonts to load the typefaces (Cormorant Garamond and Mulish) that render the site's text. The fonts are loaded from Google's CDN, which means Google's servers receive a request from your browser when you load the site. Google's privacy policy applies to that interaction.
External links in our editorial pieces (to product manufacturers, to academic sources, to other publications) are direct, untagged links. When you follow such a link, you leave Top Picks Report and the destination site's privacy policy applies.
Children
Top Picks Report is not intended for readers under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy if our practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any change. Material changes (any change in what we collect, what we do with it, or who we share it with) will also be recorded in the update log.
